With vivid blue, white, and "thousand flowers" star canes, these are stunning millefiori. They are old beads, dating from the 1920s, the Art Deco period. They were made in Venice where the slices of millefiori cane were applied by hand. This gives them their unique, individual character, with each bead slightly different in design and shape.The beads are opaque and cased, and fairly smooth. The colours are vivid and beautiful. The necklace measures 23 inches, with the central bead 25mm. All the beads are in excellent condition with no damageThe necklace has been newly re-threaded and has a brass clasp.This is a very striking, wonderfully designed necklace, with lovely, old, rare beads.
