ORIGINAL "WHIPPLES HOME MADE ICE CREAM 250 FT AHEAD" PAINTED STREET SIGN
This is really a wonderful original. This sign has hung in my kitchen for the last decade or so. With our renovation we have decided it is time to move it on to a new home. What a great sign. It originally came out of a Rhode Island estate and that is all I know about it. I dont know where Whipples Ice Cream was located but my guess would be somewhere in New England. A wo...nderful large sign that I am sure hung on a fence somewhere near a farm or market that directed people to the ice cream. Painted white on a painted green tin background that measures 15 1/2 x 33 inches. The sign is in good condition for its age. There is some obvious loss to the paint but everything is still readable and looks great. The white against the green is fantastic. Original simple wood frame is painted the same green. All of it shows great patina that really matches the age and wear of the sign. Really just an outstanding original painted ice cream sign. Great for any kitchen or wherever you want to hang it. 100% original piece. Dont miss this. Great signs like this dont come around often. Frame measures 19 x 36 3/4 inches. Wire on back so it is ready to hang.
