Here is an early 60's version of the best pedal ever.
The heel screws have been replaced.This has the very first base that has a hole thru to the bottom where bearing arm goes into.
All original parts except beater , strap and the tightening screw for the swivel.The tightening screw holds tight and allows free movement..and what makes these first swivels the best, it will not come loose!
The swivel is the original version as seen in the instructions ...that I will include.Newer Rogers drum key included.
One of the things that make these special is that when adjusted right they have what I call a sling shot effect of burying the beater in the head and at the same time you can can lightly hit the head....

in the video section, this guy gives a great run down of what makes this pedal so great and why Buddy Rich only used this one. I know at least as much about these pedals..maybe more... as he does as I have been playing them since the late 60's..my first pedal.
This one has the 22 Torrington needle bearings at each end and are all still smooth with no play, wear or sticking.. I only use a few drops of 3 in 1 oil ONLY...like they came from the factory , WD 40 and grease will attract dust and gunk that will turn to sticky sludge. Also no lubrication is needed for the heel screws for the same reason, they are stainless stud screws inside stainless inserts. These early pedals were so well made that they are pretty much bullet proof with proper care.
Comes with the paper work shown..First Ad and complete instructions for single board .
I have only cleaned this pedal lightly.
The hoop clamp look will fit the newer thicker hoops like my Recording Custom bass drum which is a bit thicker than the hoops when these were first made, plus the vintage ones too, I check this to make sure you can use on most any bass drum. Because of the great design of these pedals the beater can be adjusted to strike the bass drum head in the straight up position, it will not go past perpendicular unless you really lower the front of the bass drum. The hoop clamp pegs are not worn and base holes are just a little worn but will still hold tight. The round tightening screw rod works much better that the later T rod ones.
I will also include a New version Rogers drum key that fits in the heel to adjust.. .Not all drum keys fit the heel hole for adjustment. VERY Slight wear on the foot board, groves look deep. Nothing is stripped and everything can be adjusted tight as in the instructions.
This pedal is super quick, smooth and Quiet !
I will also include the hex wrench needed for taking out the screw on the swivel and also a newer thicker leather strap that will work better than the original but needs a longer set screw which I also include.
I spend a lot of time getting these pedals back to the best condition possible to be able to adjust the many points of adjustment " more than a dozen, closer to 20" so that once you get them dialed in for your style they will stay and play as if they are an extension of your foot.
This one will be adjusted to my style and should be very close to what most will want, just adjust the beater to the height you need and it should be good to go..otherwise the instructions give a complete guide to adjustments.
