Vintage CYMA Travel Alarm Clock In Case And Box (outstanding)
Item History & Price
When you open the box you get your first look at the tan (leather I believe) case the clock is in. This case is in pristine condition, all of the stitching is perfect and there are absolutely zero defects of any kind. The lower part of the front flap is stamped "SWISS MADE" with "MOD.DERINTERN." under that. I did not have any luck trying to decipher that one. Felt lined and contoured to fit the clock, this case has done its job for a long time.
The clock itself is in amazing condition. The clock is mounted in a frame (probably wood) covered with material that matches the case and sports two rows of stitching around it. The clock face is numbered with gold colored numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9. The other hours are denoted by a gold colored dot with a luminous inset. The hour and minute hands also have luminous insets. One additional hand is used to indicate the alarm time.
The movement is CYMA's and marked (near top) with "UNADJUSTED, 7 SEVEN JEWELS, PATENTED", the tariff code "COY" is present to the right. The bottom has "CYMA WATCH Co" with "SWISS" under that.Side Note: "unadjusted" was frequently used by manufactures in order to avoid additional tariffs that were in place back in those days.I did find a small chip in the lower left corner of the glass over the clock face. It's very small and you can see it in the pictures if you look hard enough.
Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have. And if you know what "MOD.DERINTERN." means I'd love to here from you.
