Chinese Peking Glass Bowl with Wooden Stand
Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this stunning Chinese Peking glass bowl, with a wooden stand. Please excuse the glare in the photos. The scalloped rim bowl is made from bright yellow glass. There are six panels to the exterior which have carved floral or fruit designs. The bowl has a dark wood stand, which is pierced and carved; it rests on four feet. The stand is not orig...inal to the bowl, as it is not fitted to it. The glass bowl is approximately 2 3/8 inches tall, and it has a maximum width of about 6 1/8 inches. The stand is about 2 inches tall and 4 1/8 inches wide. Unpacked, the bowl and stand weigh 1 pound 4.2 ounces together. This would be a fine addition to a collection of Asian decorative arts.
Identification
The glass is unmarked. The exact age of this antique or vintage piece is not known. The stand is marked in small impressed letters beneath, "MADE IN CHINA." The stand is not original to the bowl, but it is vintage.
Condition
The glass and the wooden stand both look very good overall. The glass bowl has no chips or cracks; it has some short, scattered scratches and light wear to the foot. The stand, which is not original to the bowl, has light wear, a couple of tiny fleabite flakes, and a light-colored area on its side (this area not shown, but you may request a photo); there is some glue residue where it was joined together. Please review the photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to bidding or buying.
Terms of Sale
1. Sales Tax
Before merchandise is shipped to a California address (or picked up or delivered within California), sales tax will be collected, unless the buyer provides a properly completed and valid California resale certificate form by mail (or in person, in the case of pick up or delivery). No exceptions. Sales tax may apply for merchandise shipped outside of California.
2. Payments
The buyer must prepay before merchandise is released. The correct shipping address must be included with payment. Contact the seller in advance of bidding or buying to find out about accepted payment methods for local pick ups or deliveries. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.
3. Shipping and Handling
Good packaging is included; double-boxing is not included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller typically ships on Mondays and Thursdays, unless a holiday or special circumstance precludes it. The merchandise will be shipped on the seller's next shipping day after payment clears. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier.
Economy shipping within the U.S. includes delivery to a physical address via an economy shipping method of the seller's choice. At the discretion of the seller, a faster shipping method may be utilized at no additional cost to the buyer. If the buyer prefers a different shipping method other than that chosen by the seller, or if delivery is to a post office box, additional shipping and handling costs may be required. For domestic parcels, a signature will be required for delivery if the total payment is $750 or greater; at the discretion of the seller, a signature may be required for delivery if the total payment is less than $750.
If international shipping is available, this will be indicated on the "Shipping and Payments" tab. Shipping quotes must be requested prior to all international bidding or buying. The seller will determine the international shipping method(s). Some merchandise may be too large to be shipped to certain countries. Some countries have restrictions or prohibitions on certain classes of merchandise. The seller will only use legal shipping methods. Customs forms will not be falsified.
International buyers, please note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when the item is picked up; do not confuse them for additional shipping charges. The seller does not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as gifts. U.S. and international government regulations prohibit such behavior.
4. Other Information
The seller makes every attempt to provide an accurate description and photos. Individual computers may display colors differently. The images and descriptions on this page may not be used without the express permission of the seller. All merchandise is sold "as is where is." The buyer agrees to indemnify and hold the seller harmless from and against any and all liabilities and expenses, of whatever kind or nature, arising from or related to the use, misuse, resale, or redistribution of the merchandise.
