For your consideration is striking Chinese "Jingdehzen Jun" or flambe glazed baluster vase! This... style of glaze was a revived version of the Song Period's 'jun' wares. The recreation of these 'transmutation glazes' produced breath-taking splashes of red, blue and purple on traditionally formed vases. These revived forms began in the 18th Century and continue today. This particular vase is marked with a "Jingdehzen Make" mark in underglaze blue on the foot of the vase. This mark, as referenced by Allen's book, denotes a make within 1925-1950. This piece came from the clean, non-smoking home of a retired Air Force Officer in San Antonio, Texas.
