Original Cold War Issue 1950s British RAF SAS/SBS MI6 - Trieste/Budapest/Vienna/Cracow Silk Escape Map.
Dated 1952 - Third Edition.
Fantastic condition for age, very clean, very light brown marking from storage over the years, you won't find a better example as a collector. Light fraying to edges (this is due to the manufacturing process).
Although these are referred to as Silk, due to natural Silk... being at such a premium, I would say this one is manufactured in period fabric/rayon otherwise known as Bemberg Silk (based upon cotton). This process was created by Waddington during WW2 to mass produce escape maps. The majority of the British 1950s escape maps (including this one) were based on data acquired during WW2 (and in some cases WW1) and is highlighted by reference to the original War Office publication date before being reissued/updated in the 1950s for the Cold War era. This data is found directly under the bottom of the Maps outer border edge.

The following types of payment are accepted:- PayPal (the fastest/most affective payment method).- Cheque, which can take up to 5-7 days to clear.- Postal Order.
