Bowl has ELABORATE HANDPAINTED RAISED gold and enamel decoration of scrollwork, flowers & leaves. Gold trim around top wafer of hollow beehive stem, gold trim and enameled "pearls" on top of raised pedestal base and gold trim around outside edge of base. Highest quality lead crystal that rings like a bell. MOSER HAS EMBELLISHED THE USUAL BEEHIVE STEM BY ADDING A BALLOON AND RATCHETED RING ABOVE THE TOP RING OF THE BEEHIVE. This wine hock is in excellent condition without any cracks, chips, nicks or stains; little use indicated. GOLD & ENAMEL DECORATIONS ARE COMPLETELY INTACT OTHER THAN A TINY BIT OF AGE RELATED WEAR TO GOLD TRIM ON TOP EDGE OF TOP RIM, WAFER ON BEEHIVE STEM & GOLD TRIM AROUND TOP EDGE OF BASE.PROVENANCE: stated to have been made by MOSER, but, we couldn't find any documentation to confirm. HOWEVER, THE BI-COLOR AND GOLD/ENAMEL TREATMENT ARE SUPPORTIVE OF A MOSER ATTRIBUTION, AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE USE OF THE ALEXANDRITE COLOR(of which, Moser was the first to perfect, followed by Heisey in the U.S., who had difficulty keeping their mix stable) is TRADEMARK MOSER. Alexandrite will turn pink/lilac/blue violet shades depending on whether it is exposed to natural light, LED, Incandescent or Florescent lighting. We don't usually guarantee an attribution, however, in the case of this amber/alexandrite goblet, we will go out on a limb and unconditionally guarantee it to be a Moser product from 1900-1930's. If you get an expert opinion stating otherwise or if you just don't feel it is Moser, then please return for a full refund.PRICE GUIDELINES: couldn't find any offers or sales for this gilt, enameled and amber/alexandrite roemer wine goblet on Ebay or Worthpoint.REF: SHARMA KRAUSKOPF'S "Waterford Crystal - Irish Brilliance"(2010); PAGE/FREDERICKSEN'S "A Collection of American Crystal"(1995); PAGE/FREDERICKSEN'S "Crystal Stemware Identification Guide"; DEAN SIX'S Lotus Depression Glass and Far Beyond(2005); FLORENCE'S Stemware Identification(1997); DEAN SIX'S West Virginia glass Between the World Wars(2002); Websites of the Leading Crystal Replacement Services; Ebay's 3 Month History of Sold Items.
