Fantastic Antique Carved Jade Elephant w Buddha Gold Bullion Braid Howdah Here is a beautifully hand-carved piece of light coloured jade in the shape of an elephant figurine. The elephant is dressed for a formal parade is wearing a cold bullion braid howdah that is believed to be a minimum of 10ct gold; not tested but shows no sign of tarnish or over oxidisation. Mounted and fixed to the howdah is a small praying Buddha seated in the lotus position. He is a different colour to the ele...phant and may be a later addition. It is a very good carving and will make a terrific addition to either the elephant, jade or Buddha collection.It is in good antique condition; no damage to report.
