An original Civil War letter including the cover dated February 1864. The cover has the send to address of Clear Creek Iowa. In one area it says, ...................the Officers talk of detailing about two hundred men to keep during the sumer but very few are willing to stay there are as many Copperheads here as there is in allmakee a soldier has to pay double price for almost every thing..............................................
