Up for sale today is a vintage Sansui QRX-6500 Quadraphonic receiver. This receiver is being sold AS-IS for parts or repair only. It has been tested for power-on and does so successfully without issues. No other functions (audio, inputs, etc...) have been tested. The receiver is in rou...gh physical condition as can be seen in the photos. Below is a list of details of this receiver:
Aesthetics:
The faceplate does have minor scratches on it, but overall still looks pretty good.
The knobs are in good to excellent condition.
The plexiglass for the display is cracked by the tuning knob, and there is minor micro-scratching from previous cleaning over its 40 year history, but is still clear as can be seen in the photos.
The bottom metal cover is in good condition, minor corrosion on the inside.
The chassis frame also has corrosion throughout, and the entire interior of the receiver is a bit dusty.The wood cabinet is in very rough condition, it is slightly twisted to one side, and the veneer by the vents is ripped off in several places, (See photos). It is however, still intact with all case screws on the sides and bottom
The back panel is dirty and has some corrosion as well
Original incandescent bulbs do work, but are dim and a couple do not function.
Overall this receiver is in fair condition, but could definitely use some TLC for the cosmetics.
Functionality and internal condition:One of the two tuning dial cords is missing (so the tuner will not tune)One of the rear speaker terminals is busted (see photos)The tuning knob is also busted, there is a plastic sleeve that is missing, making the knob very loose (which is probably how the plexiglass face cracked by it)NO POWER CORD INCLUDEDAM Antenna mount is broken on one side but does still slide in and out, and hold the antenna bar.No other issues were found, but no testing beyond powering up was done.
