Ebonized bentwood framed settee c. 1883 by Jacob & Josef Kohn Company, Vienna, Austria (1849-1914), unsigned, the back with three medallion cane sections over the rectangular cane seat, all rising on tapered saber legs, re-caned c. 1980 and in excellent condition, underside of frame with old repairs, 37"h, 56"w, 22"d *Reference: "Thonet: 50 Years of Furniture", Christopher Wilk, Barrons Educational Series Inc., Woodbury, New York, 1980, page 41 showing a Kohn advertisement from 188...3 and picturing the subject bench.
