1861 Union CDV-General Irwin McDowell-RARE BALTIMORE BACKMARK-Embossed Original Rice Paper Sleeve with a Beautiful Photogravure Image of the 1st Commander of the Army of the Potomac. The Obverse sleeve has Age Soiling and some minor staining. The borders are straight. All 4 Corners are intact.The REVERSE : Exceptional Baltimore Maryland Photographer Backmark from RICHARD WALZL'S PALACE OF PHOTOGRAPHY- Marble Building No. 103 W. Baltimore St.-Baltimore Maryland. There is Soiling and min...or creasing. All the Imagery is easily visible.This is RARE due to the fact that Baltimore was a REBEL HOTBED and actually engaged FEDERAL FORCES just that April of 1861. Manassas/Bull Run took place in July of 1861 and shortly afterward, McDowell was replaced by General McClellan.SHIPPING INCLUDES TRACKING AND INSURANCE.
