This really nice AM radio has just been restored and isready to provide many years of service. This model covers the AM broadcast band from 540-1600 kHz, has greatreception and has a beautiful wood cabinet. It will be a very nice addition or start to your vintage collection. I try to keep my restored prices low since Iam continually doing restorations and I don’t want to build up an inventory offinished products. Restoration detailsare below. T...hanks for looking. Electronics/Chassis Restoration: After cleaning the chassis, all tubes inthe 6 tube set were tested and all defective or weak tubes have beenreplaced. All paper and electrolyticcapacitors have been replaced. Any otherout-of-tolerance components have been replaced. A new power cord was installed. The chassis has been re-aligned for optimalperformance. This 1948 radio has alighted dial, a buiIt-in loop antenna for the AM Broadcast band and a nice 4” x6” speaker. The dial pointer and the radiocontrols (on/volume, tuning) all work properly and smoothly. Note: I have also added a small-valueunder-chassis power resistor in the AC wiring to compensate for today’s higherline voltages. This will increase tubefilament life. Philco’s original linevoltage is stated at 105-120 volt but with the resistor mod is now 111-126 voltsAC or DC. Cabinet: The refinishedcabinet is in great shape with no cracks, dents or scratches. A new grill cloth was installed. Photos show of all sides of the radio. The lighted dial plate, dial pointer, andknobs are in great shape. The originalradio model/chassis/tube information sticker is present on the inside wall ofthe cabinet.
