Vintage Deco 30s Butterscotch Amber Cheroot Holder In Silver Case, Chased Decor
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:976492 | Age: 1900-1940 |
The case is decorated with a chased floral pattern, with a cartrouche for initials, the top of lid is plain.
The cheroot holder is maed of a rich coloured, natural amber with subtle natural stripes/veins.
Hallmarked for Birmingham 1938 (a similar mark also stands for 1913 but thwe style is more 30s, in my opinion), partial marks also on lid, and a trace of a mark on the cheroot's edge (which looks like gil...ded silver). Maker's mark looks likely for Joseph Gloster.
There is a slight dent on the back of the case as shown, otherwise in good condition with light wear, lid hinge works well. Cheroot also in good condition with no cracks, some dark staining on the inside.
