1950 ' S Bozo The Clown Light Up Record Player

This is a late 1940's early 1950's Bozo the Clown record player made for Capitol Records. It shows typical wear, look closely at the photos, but it not drastically damaged and I consider it to be in excellent condition for a 70 year old childs record player. Note that this plays 78 RPM records ONLY. The player has been refurbished and is fully functional. The amplifier has been gone through and aged and defective parts replaced, the motor has been cleaned and lubricated. It... has a replacement tone arm installed with a newer cartridge/needle in it. The original blue metal tone arm is included, and it is not damaged and could be easily reinstalled. The trouble is it is hard to find a cartridge with enough output of more modern manufacture that will drive the amplifier and that can also withstand the weight of the metal tone arm on the needle. So a modern, lightweight (by modern I mean 1960's) tone arm is installed. The plastic Bozo decoration in the center of the speaker lights up when the player is turned on. This works, and the emblem is in better condition than any I've seen in 50 years of collecting record players. Many were somewhat melted when the original bulbs burned out and people replaced the originals with bulbs that were brighter and hotter than the originals. Also the plastic emblems tended to get scratched, chipped and cracked. This one, as you can see is still very nice. This will play 78 RPM records very nicely. It's a dandy item for a record player collector, Bozo collector, or novelty toy collector. Of if you just like clowns, LOL. Due to age I have to sell this with no warranty and no returns.
