Authentic civil war document inhertited from family collection, it looks to be the document used to appoint and commission Sergeant George L Gary to Second Lieutenant of Sixty Second Regiment Illinois Volunteers with rank from July 13th, 1864. It is hand signed in gold ink by the then Governor Richard "Rich" Yates and Adjutant General Allen C Fuller, and in blank ink by then Secretary of State O. M. Hatch, August 1st, 1964. This document has been lamintated to preserve its condition. A...lso has the State of Illinois seal in the lower lefthand corner. Guaranteed to be 100% genuine and authentic, this is a family heirloom that has been passed down to me.
