Up for sale here is a tweed jacketfrom Japan’s Dry Bones label. Dry Bones is one of the smaller “American casual”brands out there, with a handful of dedicated shops in Japan and very, verylimited distribution abroad. Where most of the American casual brands put theirown stamp on vintage work and military wear, Dry Bones is much more apt toinclude traditional Japanese imagery on the one hand, or bring in a rock-n-rollinfluence on the other.This jacket is a bit of an exceptionfrom ...Dry Bones in my opinion, as it largely eschews the Japanese and Americanainfluences, going for something that looks a bit more traditionally British inmy opinion. This is awool tweed jacket, no lapels with a three button closure, very much with Dry Bones’ ownspin on it. For one, the lackof lapels is on the more unusual side of things, although it is not unheard ofand to me references 1960s era British tailored wear. It’s that interesting mixof heritage long with something just a bit more modern. The tweed is alsopretty unique, where we have various shades of khakis and browns incorporatedin a semi-random weave.Material is an 80% wool / 10% acrylic / 5% polyester / 5% nylon blend, making for quite a unique fabric. This isafall weight piece in my opinion.The jacket is fully lined in a semi-iridescent brownish-orange polyester fabric, which is a nice little touch, although it is not further insulated.Given Dry Bones’ relatively small scale, production runs are likewise pretty small. These jackets are now completelysold out, although you can get it here at a fraction of the retail price.Size is labeled a 38/M and fits likea standard medium. I measure the chest at 21”, shoulders at 17”, length at 29”from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 23”from the shoulder. The jacket comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears, stains or obvious signs ofwear. Made in Japan.Shipping via EMS from Japan toanywhere will be $32.
