This custom-made Zinger was done using one of the JohnnyLightning Zinger original black base from an actual 77 Olds Zinger, so it fitsperfect. The body is a light cream colored 1977 '77 Olds Cutlass from Johnny Lightning’sSuper 70’s series. I also swapped the redline front tire so it now has redlines up front. I have been a long-time Zinger collector, and have a pretty com...pletecollection of every Johnny Lightning Zinger. Like a few other Zinger fans, whenthe factory couldn’t satisfy my desire for more Zingers, I started making themmyself about a dozen years ago. I ended up with between 400 and 500 customZingers made from various real Zinger and mostly other Johnny Lightning donorcars. Eventually it became too hard to find donor Zingers at decent prices, soabout 5 years ago when my supply dried up, I stopped making these customs. Thenew Zingers have inspired me again, so now it’s time to thin the old herd alittle and make room for some new ones. I made these for myself only, and they were displayed on mywalls in plexiglas cases. These aresimple customs. I try to match wheelbases from the car I want to make withvarious Zinger donor bases and use the best match. Sometimes the base stillneeds some trimming to get it to fit. Even interiors are shaved sometimes.These are made to look good on display. The bases are usually left rough, sodon’t expect bodywork underneath. Just grinding and trimming to fit. They’reeither glued together using Goop or JB Weld. Once in a while the donor car willhave some special wheels that I want to retain, so if possible, the wheelscenters are swapped, if the Zinger base uses the old-style rear wheel. For example, the yellow hubs on the OldsCutlass Rallye 350. On rare occasions there is more custom work required for acertain car, but that will be more fully described in each car’s initialdescription. I also try to have my opening bid at or below what the two donorcars cost to acquire. I want everyone to know these were made for fun, notmoney. I am hoping that someone else will know enjoy them as much as I firstdid. This is just general information that applies to all my custom Zingers. All items sold As-Is.
