This listing is for a RARE and hard to find Otto Sveen Hand Carved Wooden Troll from Norway.
Otto Sveen was the brother of Anton Sveen, who was a great woodcarver who also carved Trolls.Their Trolls were carved in similar style, but Anton’s Trolls had an uglier expression and longer noses. Otto Trolls were known for being shorter and more hunched over with a happier expression.
This wonderful hand carved Troll was carved from one piece of hard mountain birch wood. &...nbsp; Intricately carved. He is hunched over, has a walking sticking in one hand and his other hand in his pocket. His face has a curious look like he is perhaps shocked because he has encountered a human.
He measures 6 1/2” tall x 4” wide x 5” from the back of his hump to the front of his nose.
He is nice vintage condition. He is marked on one foot but I can’t read the mark. There is glue on the bottom of his feet, looks like he may have been glued down at some point. His other foot has an old repair, broken and has been glued back. (This repair does not take away from his fine appearance).
