This hunting pouch with utility size bag knif...e and solid brass powder measure follows the lines of an early Frontiersman mountain style pouch used from the 1750's to the 1850's. Bags of this type were used by Soldiers, Longhunters, & Native Americans of the period. They were also carried West during the Fur Trade.
Hunting Pouch Description: This Hunting Pouch is constructed from 4-5 oz stone oiled cowhide. Color is a rustic dark brown with a hand rubbed oil finish. It will hold up to tough outdoor treatment. It has the look of an original period piece. It is dark and light in areas with natural range marks. The flap is an extended long flap with a serrated top throat. In the center is a 4 pointed Star and 2 half moon inlays that are red trade wool. The flap is lined with pig skin. Bag is all hand stitched with heavy waxed linen thread. Bag is kidney shape with 2 small inner pockets stitched to the back panel . The carrying strap is 1 1/2" wide with a 1 1/4" billet with 6 adjustment holes with a solid brass buckle that has been antiqued, it is attached to the back of the bag with rivets and stitched around. It has a loop attached for your ball starter or powder measure.
Utility Bag Knife Description: It is all hand made, one of a kind. It has been antiqued to look like an original period piece. Overall length is 9" long, handle is from a white tail deer antler. Handle is secured to the blade with 3500 PSI industrial grade epoxy. Blade is carbon steel made from old saw blade steel, it is 5 1/2" L X 3/4" wide at it's widest point, it tapers to a drop tip. It has natural blemishes and indentations of old saw blade carbon steel. It is sharp and takes a fine edge.
Powder Measure Description: It is solid brass and holds 100 grs. of 2FF black powder. It can be cut to match your load.
