Here we have for auction a Brass 2¾" Alfred & Son Salmon Combination Fly Fishing Reel...
Smooth beautifully marked chunky handle which turns freely set to faceplate...Brass foot - filed to each end - brass three pillar model...Ebonite backplate & rims, brass faceplate drum etcTurns very freely without any bind - sounds a good click on the turn - good strong check.Stamped to the faceplate with the victorian kite-mark Alfred & Sons Makers 20 Moorgate St London.No lin...e grooves, corrosion, fractures or damage EtcRetaining very well...good example - lovely patina!Has been cleaned, lubricated & oiled throughout...check has also been tuned.Good piece of angling history to display or fish.As per pictures!
