Item History & Price
Up for auction: a Very sharp ancient Roman silver Angoninianus(double denarius) of the Roman Emperor Gordian III(238-244). The coin in the image is the coin you will receive. Coins of this young emperor are popular and desirable among collectors and historians. This is a superb example of a high quality antoninianus of this young ruler. The smallest of details, like the lines of his hair and details of his face are easily viewable. The obverse has an excellent bust of this young ruler ...as well as a clear legend. Tbe reverse has an impressive image of Felicitas Temporum holding a caduceus and cornucopia. The strike is well centered and almost no porosity is present on the surface. The edges are in good condition as well. This is among the strongest coins of Gordian III I have ever seen. BONUS: winner Will receive an additional ancient coin free as a bonus gift of appreciation.
