Plowman's ...Coins of Panama website has considerable info on the issuer, and lists a smaller (26mm) token for "1 LATA".He plots the date of issue as 1918-29. A lata is a container for picking coffee beans, about one cubic foot. Plowman prices this at $200/300 VF/XF, but also states he only knows of only ONE example. Ths 5-Latas can be considered a very high "denomination" and one would expect it to be rarer than the 1-Lata. Plowman's illustration is from a pencil rubbing.Ex-W.J.
