This is a Key Date 1981-S Type 2 Proof Kennedy Half Dollar. This coin was removed by myself from its original Proof Set with gloved hands using the utmost care. This is a beautiful coin with deep mirrors and ultra cameo contrast, with no flaws. Any color you see is the reflection of my pink camera in the mirrored fields of the coin. The 1981-S Type 2 coins resulted from a change in mint mark style at the San Francisco Mint part...way through the year in 1981, resulting in these coins having lower mintages than their Type 1 Counterparts...in the case of the Lincoln Cent, Kennedy Half and Anthony Dollar, MUCH lower mintages!!
