Up for sale is a vintage and rare variety of Germany's famous Aachen Cathedral, founded in the year 800 and the site in 814 of the burial of Charlemagne, Holy Roman Emperor. This model, which isn't listed in Monumental Miniatures, is made of lead and dates to the 1900s-1920s.
Most of its original silver finish has aged and taken on a dark gray almost black patina. On one side is written: "Kaiser Dom" and on the other: "Aachen".
Except for a slight bend at the to...p of the main spire, the model is in very good to excellent condition.
