Description
This is a VINTAGE COLEMAN CANADA 201 KEROSENE CUSTOM NICKEL LANTERN 1/54 & CASE UNFIRED.This is a custom 201 kerosene lantern. It has been professionally converted to the specifications of a Coleman 201 kerosene lantern.... The fuel air tube has been removed and has been replaced with a pickup tube in the valve assembly. The generator has been changed to a 201 generator and a pre-heat cup has been added.
You will also receive the period matching diamond decal metal carry case.
This lantern's vent is red. It is porcelain enamel, NOT PAINTED.
Production year marked on this lantern is January 1954 (1/54). This production date is close to the initial time of production for these nickel lanterns in Canada.
This lantern was made by Coleman Canada in the Toronto plant.
Globe has no visible chips or cracks and has the Coleman white parallelogram logo, MADE IN GERMANY.
A proper water submersion test was done on this lantern. The fount holds pressure and at the completion of the testing, there were no visible leaks.
Since this lantern was fully disassembled, cleaned, re-assembled, and tested, it has been returned to it's un-fired status as per Coleman's original factory specifications.
The tip cleaner and fuel knob work and are neither stiff nor sloppy.
While this lantern is clean, tested and restored, it is being sold "as is." It is an old lantern approaching 70 years old. It will contain nicks, chips, scratches, dents, flea bites, imperfections, and patina. Unless I indicate it's a brand new sealed unit, it isn't. If that's what you're looking for, this isn't it. Please be aware of that before making your bid so there is no confusion or misunderstanding on the subject.
