This is a 9 piece set of Sterling Silver oval rounds. Labeled Profiles in Courage Cameo Collection: Limited Edition Proof on the front slip cover, this set is housed within a wooden frame against a velvety-green background. The frame is in nice condition - I do not see any major blemishes, as it was usually stored inside the case. The back of this piece shows that it is possible to stand o...n a desk, but it has never been displayed that way as the back is in unused condition. The wooden casing slides into the cover from the side. Upon close inspection of the front covering, there are a couple of discoloration spots - from either something sitting against it for so long, or perhaps a price tag remnants - I have not tried to clean the covering at all.
The silver pieces each depict a particular person from the Profiles in Courage book authored by John F. Kennedy. He is the 9th silver round in this collection - centered in the display. Around him in an oval-fashion are the eight US senators for which JFK describes their acts of bravery and integrity. These other 8 pieces in the set should depict:John Quincy Adams - Massachusetts

Taft - OhioDaniel Webster - MassachusettsI have not taken out all the pieces to verify the inscription on the reverse, only one. The one I took out very carefully with cotton gloves is depicted in this listing. They all should have a similar inscription with the Senators name, their state, the years of their birth and death, and at the bottom "Sterling 1976". As for the pieces themselves, a quick internet search comes up with several different weights, content, etc., but I calculated the following for each:My scale shows the one piece I carefully removed (and placed back) weighed in at 38.626 grams eachWith 31.1 grams per troy ounce, this should convert to just shy of 1 1/4 troy ounces: 1.242 troy ounces.Since Sterling Silver is 92.5% pure silver, multiplying by .925 gives 1.14885 troy ounces of silver.Since there are nine pieces total, again multiplying I believe there is 10.34 troy ounces of silver.You can do the math with today's silver prices to get an estimate of the melt value of this set.Again, I believe my calculations are correct - if anyone has any corrections, please let me know and I will modify this listing.
I image the Franklin Mint also has a CoA with this set, of which this listing unfortunately does not have.
