CIVIL WAR CAP KEPI WITH OD 17 CROSS ON FRONT 17TH CORPS ORDANCE ? MAKER R H MORGAN ON INSIDE This eBay listing is for an antique cap/hat that I just picked up from a local estate auction that had a number of older military related items!! This was advertised as a Civil War kepi in rough condition that comes as you see pictured in the listing and noted above. The inside has a makers name that reads R H Morgan Manufacturer of Caps Badges Flag...s Regalia in Shenandoah, PA. The front has OD on the left and 17 on the right in what looks like a thin brass like material as is the wreath. In the center is a silver cross type hallmark. I tried to do a little research but didn't have much luck since I know very little about Civil War items. I found some reference that OD could stand for Ordance, 17 coudl be 17th Corps and maybe the Cross is for a Calvary Corp. There are 2 brass buttons on the sides with eagles. The rough part is where the brim attaches to the hat is totally loose. Please review all of the pictures to see the true condition of this old antique hat!!
