I’m offering today an adorable large baby boy doll from the 1950's era. He's not marked, but looks like a Horsman doll to me. This is a large baby doll with molded hair, vinyl face and heavy vinyl arms and legs with hard plastic body. One of my customers requested a boy doll which I've never tried listing before, so this is a new one for me to do. I only had one child and h...e was a boy so I dressed this little guy like I use to dress my son. Hope you all enjoy him.
Oh my goodness, wait till you see this precious baby boy doll in person. He is such a cute doll with sweet face. I will start at the top of the doll and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description. Starting at the top of his head, he has light brown molded hair which has minimal paint loss. I found a much older navy blue wool hat from my vintage doll clothes collection to put on top of his little head. As you go down to his face, he has single brown line for eyebrows. He has beautiful large blue open close sleep eyes with long eyelashes which have been spared from the hands of his previous little mommies. His eyes open and close freely and have such a precious look to them.
He has a dainty little nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to his rose bud shape lips. His lips are painted bright red color with open mouth for bottle feeding, but as I recommend with all these older baby dolls I don't think it's wise to give them liquids. Of course, that will be left up to his new mommy. His cheeks have beautiful coloring to blend well with his beautiful bright blue eyes.
His head is vinyl, heavy vinyl arms, legs and hard plastic body. He has jointed head, arms and legs for posing in such sweet positions. Obviously, his arms are not as tight as they use to be, but he still poses nicely. The back of his neck is not hallmarked, but to me he looks like a Horsman doll from the 1950's era.
Now to his adorable outfit I chose for his debut. Once I decided to dress a boy doll, I started shopping for the perfect outfit. It was much easier to dress him than my girl dolls, because I always picked out Chad's clothes. This little guy is wearing a bright blue onesie with dark navy blue trim around the collar. The front of his onesie has two puppy dogs which have been embroidered and they too are in shades of lighter blue with dark navy blue colors. The onesie has snaps in the crotch for easy removal. I found these navy blue jeans which are in a knit fabric and have intricate jean detailing; up to the fly in front and pockets on the side. He is wearing black socks with his patent leather tennis shoes with white shoe laces for remaining securely in place on the doll. This adorable baby boy doll will come with his very own Cottage Collectibles brown teddy bear, "ABC" wooden blocks and soft foot ball. He's all boy and needs his toys to take with him to his new home.
SIZE:
This is a large size baby boy doll standing approximately 21" tall.
CONDITION:
As you can see from the photos, he is in what I would consider in good condition. His molded hair has minimal paint loss. He has beautiful open/close sleep eyes which work fine. His eyelashes are thick and uncut. His clothes were purchased just for this little baby boy. His Teddy Bear is new as is the football. The wooden blocks are vintage. His socks are new, but his tennis shoes are vintage. Please view complete set of photos for thorough description. I hope you can take a few minutes to look at my other dolls. God bless you. Connie
