Amazing piece of history from the Boer War to WW1. (9) Enfield Crown inspection marks from spi...ne, forte to handle!13, 3M, E, 58E, 57E, 57L, 3CL, A6, 16E.Also (T) on the tang.Blade proof mark (X)Original stamp 4 97 (April 1897) Interesting and rare as few have this date after the discontinue of the acceptance date mark 1895.Re-stamped 1905 and again in 1906Serial / Issue # 4995 Condition: Spring is still strong, stained but no rust. No cracks breaks or grind marks.
