RareZeiss D.F. 6x42 Imperial Navy binoculars, benutzer, & case #611
These highly desirable WW1 period Zeiss Imperial German Navy 6x42 binoculars are in decent condition considering their age and the conflicts they have endured. They appear to be undamaged but have signs of having been overpainted at some time. The leather covering is very good but has also been painted. The inscriptions on the top plates which include the Imperial German Crown, M, and the N number, are still... visible, but the paint would have to be removed to read the serial number. The lenses and prisms appear to be undamaged but they could do with cleaning, which I am sure would result in very good and clear viewing. The eye cups are original and undamaged. Both oculars focus freely but one does not screw all the way down so may need some attention. They come with their original leather covered benutzer, spring, and clip, as well as a later but old neck strap, all in good usable condition. The binoculars come with an original black leather case which is ok but worn and the clasp is broken. It has the early style of thin metal, swivel shoulder strap fittings.
