Vintage Blue Mountain Pottery Peacock Bird Book Ends

We have a passed down set of unique, and hard-to-find Blue Mountain Pottery Canada bookends. Made using the peacock mold and then fired in the traditional BMP Green Harvest Glaze, these two pieces are in excellent condition for their age.
Created in the early 1970's, these red clay bookends have no flaws in their presentation. The under rim, red clay exposed areas have separation lines on each piece. I was told that they came that way, and are manufactu...rer mold splits within the studio at the time of creation, not from owner damage.
Clean, odorless, and no chips, cracks, crazing (that we can see), hairlines, or discoloring. The one bookend has some kiln caused glaze loss on the front lip (see photo it clearly shows). The pieces could be cleaned with the appropriate cleaner to get rid of the aurora coloring that shows on the glaze around the base tops, when reflected off the light (we use vinegar and water for that on our BMP, comes right off).
Each bookend measures 8.5 inches tall, 5 inches in depth, 4 inches wide (side to side facing front), and 17 inches around at the base lip. A wonderful collector set, or, for an individual decor.
