Offered for your consideration this evening is a beautiful vintage Montblanc pen from the 1950sM O N T B L A N C No. 254Jet BlackGold Filled trimc. 1950sHistoryAnother interesting Montblanc from my collection. This is the Montblanc no. 254 made in Germany. It’s a later model, made in the 1950s with a clear transparent ink-view window – later models had blue ink-view section, while early ones had clear ink-view section. Standard sized pen, with double cap ring (...one wide, one narrow), blade clip, domed cap top and the Montblanc snowflake trademark logo to the cap top.This is the mid-sized pen in the 25x line-up.Item condition:Overall, the pen’s in decent user grade condition: there is some hardly any wear to the gold filled trim (please see photos). However, the cap and barrel end have some hairline cracks that have been sealed at some point in the past. Not really noticeable but they are there (please see photos). Other than that, the inlaid Montblanc snowflake logo looks great despite some age (it has off-white/cream colour); nice high gloss surface and great crisp and fully readable imprints to the cap. All in all, a decent, still presentable user grade pen that can be used as a daily writer without any fear that it will get damaged - the pen has seen a lot already.Imprints:Cap : MONT ^^ BLANCThe filling system:Patented Montblanc piston filler.To fill, simply unscrew the Blind Cap to extend piston and place the nib in ink so that the lower part of the section is also immersed. Turn the filler knob to retract the piston and draw ink into the pen. Remove the nib from ink bottle. Wipe the pen point and section with paper towel.
