This beautiful, vintage, carved painted eyed, 7 inches in wooden body length "Musky Ice Spear Fishing Decoy" Was made by the Bear Creek Bait Company of Kaleva, Michigan. The circa is 1946-1948. This Type I, wooden bodied decoy was only made for less than 2 years, thus it's scarcity. The subsequent type II, III, & IV decoys were all made from plastic till the company went out of business in 1983. There were only 3 different wooden body forms made, Sucke...r, Musky, and Trout. The condition of this example is with very slight in use wear only, with just a very small paint chip on the front of it's nose and the typical paint loss on it's belly weights.
