You just don't see many of these super rare color sets done by Ralph Hodgdon come up for sale very often. I don't know why since there should be many of them out there somewhere. These are the same sets that the artist was selling at the time and is signed/dated on the back of the first sheet and went from artist's hands to the collector that purchased them, either by mail or in person. The printer that Mr. Hodgdon used was truly amazing. The colors look so vivid afte...r all of these years, the costumes look hand painted. I actually had to feel the page to make sure that they aren'tt!!! My photos don't do these sets justice. These come on a good quality paper, not cardstock and are letter sized. I did notice that the paper grade varied with the years that the sets were printed. I will not make any copies of these original sets that I'm offering and I only have one of each set. This is a wonderful Ralph Hodgdon and Marie Antoinette collectable!!!"Marie Antoinette" is originally from 1991 but then it looks like more gowns were added in 1996. There is one doll and 41 lavish gowns done on 22 pages!!! Please take the time to view the photos of some of the costumes. The colors are vivid and the artwork was intricate as were the gowns from that time period. This even includes the famous costume from Antoinette's execution that was documented in many paintings of the era. This is an amazing original set and I know I won't have another one in my lifetime. The set is how I received it and will come to you in the same page protectors. This is definitely for collectors that love period movies and costumes!!!All of the paper dolls that I offer are from estates, other homes or purchased here on eBay. I don't know the previous storage history. My collection is kept in a smoke/pet free area of my home with a dehumidifier running 24/7. I have a poor sense of smell at my age and am unable to detect odors. People smoked way back when, so that could linger and I would not be aware of it.
