Height: - 4.3 cm (1 4/8 inches)
Width: - 14.5 cm (5 6/8 inches)Weight: - 307g (0.68 lb / 10.8 oz)

CONDITION:
Excellent Original Condition - No Repairs, No Restorations, No Chips, No Hairlines, No Breaks, just some general light scuffs and a couple of scratches. - As can be clearly seen in my photographs this censer has been kiln fired, propped up on sesame seeds (or similar) so that the base of the feet can be covered in the Jun ware bubble glaze. This is a highly skilled process as any glaze in the kiln touching the floor of the sager would fuse the object to it. There are 5 unglazed porcelain dots (spur touch marks), otherwise this censer is entirely coated in glaze. Where the soft pale blue Jun glaze thins, it exposes a pale mushroom coloured glaze below, this can best be seen on the rim and other extremes. - I am unable to date this item. At first I assumed it was made in the 20th Century, however having studied the open bubble holes around the 5 spur marks on the base (with a x60 magnifier) I can clearly see a lot of old dirt and staining to the porcelain that looks to be genuine and old. I do not feel comfortable dating this piece and hope my detailed photos provide enough information. Whatever this censer's age it is definitely a fine piece of porcelain with great quiet modesty.
