Very old style glaze technology with random bubbles being larger and more erratic in the inner centre.I wouldn’t say it was from the Song period due to the sheen but it certainly seems to have a close age and consistent with similar Jin Yuan and early Ming pieces though a well sort after early transitional / experimental type (looks like a mix of Ru kiln blue and Jun type glazings in one piece) and a nice little collectors piece. There are damages as can be seen including cracks and old repaired work with glue/resin with some areas of the adhesive detaching and flaking so possibly in quite a fragile state and could benefit a fresh repair if preferred. Also some inevitable age related issues includes light markings and general glaze crazing (please study photographs). Despite the damages and minor losses, this is a very characterful and interesting little piece and a very displayable piece too.
Measures approximately 3.5 inches in width.
Will post worldwide with tracked postage.
Please be aware that even though I make the best efforts to pack well for safe delivery, due to this items fragile state I cannot guarantee that the repairs will not be made weaker or detach in transit even with normal handling but I will do my best for safe arrival.
All of my items are purchased personally from UK auction rooms and antiques stores etc from the late 90s onwards for my own collections and I have been gradually selling the majority of my items to raise for my sons craniosynostosis funds. Please see my other items for similar listings and please keep an eye out as I will have many more oriental items and other antiques for sale in the future.
Many thanks for looking x
