PRIMITIVE UNCLE SAM OOAK DESIGN PATRIOTIC FOLK ART DRUM 4th Of July
Item History & Price
Uncle Sam is stitched from heavy canvas. He has painted eyes and a stitched nose. His coat and hat are made from thick vintage navy blue wool. His pants are a cotton stripe. His beard is pure sheep’s wool. Everything is aged for that look of yesteryear that we all love.
Sam’s... painted boots are laced and his trim on his coat and hat are hand stitched and adorned with metal stars.
Sam’s drum is my favorite part. I made it to resemble an old revolutionary war drum. I made the drum by hand and applied a vintage post card image of the flag and eagle. It is painted and aged and laced with cord around the nails. The drum sticks are vintage square head nails. They added the perfect finishing touch.
Uncle Sam also has a red burlap bag hand stitched to his back. It is filled with American flags adorned with rusty liberty bells, an image of vintage “star spangled banner” sheet music, vintage mercury glass feather tree ornaments, and firecrackers that I made from paper. He also has a vintage image of Uncle Sam attached to the back of his bag.
Sam is securely attached to a barn wood base with original paint. This barn wood came from a barn that has been in the family for over 100 years. It is a beautiful red in color.
Uncle Sam is approximately 33” tall to the top of his hat and the barn wood base is approximately 11” wide.
I pay great attention and time to the fine details and when he arrives I am sure you will agree.
