One of the most beautifully wearable post war bridal gowns I've ever come across can be yours. This stunning gown is made of heavy slipper satin trimmed with fine net tulle, self roses and covered buttons. The generous train works for a turn and swirl photo a la 1940s! There is a layer of tulle over the bottom satin flounce which is hard to see but a beautiful touch.Gown measurements are 32" bust, 24" waist that has been let out to 25" at the back button closure. The buttons were moved... to gain an inch at some point. Also, it appears to have had an illusion tulle neckline at upper back but a prior owner has removed those buttons to create an open neckline. I've tucked in this area on the back view to show how it would now be worn. Also I show this area untucked in another photo so you could see what I'm referring to. As you can see, my mannequin was too large for the dress. All the loops and buttons are attached and work.This dress can be worn on the shoulder, on tip of shoulder or off the shoulder. Upper hipline measures 32", 3/4 length sleeves are 15" from pit to cuff. Overall length is 56" shoulder to front hem. Back waist to hem of train is 82", front skirt width - side seam to side seam at decorative satin band is 92". The wearer can use a very large petticoat with this dress.The dress is clean, odorfree, no mothballs, smoking, pet, perfume nor mildew odors. I started to press it but figured it will be wrinkled, anyway, when you get it. There is a minor rust stain at front skirt as shown in photo. There was a sticker at some point on the bodice near the waist as shown in a photo. The area below the buttons has a hidden closure of Velcro which was added. I think a short zipper might have been originally there. The Velcro functions well, though. The stitching thread throughout has darkened as have the button loops. No snags nor underarm issues. A small tear on the tulle area on hemline flounce, hard to see in this large skirt. Seams are narrow - if you need it larger you would have to use skirt fabric for gussets. The heavy slipper satin fabric is strong.This is a heavy dress to ship. No international bidders please.
