Antique Mahogany Barometer With Inlay & Stringing Banjo Shaped Working Order Description ...;Welcome to Bigals Pandoras Box, treasures to suit every pocket This auction is for a good quality barometer that was a presentation piece for a well respected member of staff from the LCC Cormont School Brixton in London in 1924 . It may well have been the head of the school.
The barometer is banjo shaped and has lovely inlaid decoration and stringing around the edges
The barometer is in very good condition as shown. The thermometer is working well and the weather indicator moves as it should but may need the resetting correctly ( especially after being shipped ).
This is a really lovely piece, especially with the history involved as the member of staff Mr E W Martin must have been teaching their in the Victorian era
It measures approx 39 inches tall ( 990mm ) by approx 10.5 inches wide ( 265mm ) and 3 inches deep (75mm )
It seems in good working order but may need the pressure setting correctly. This is in good condition for its age , a few tiny knocks etc but no major damage found. A good item in as stated condition
