Vintage 5 (5/6?) Blonde Ponytail Barbie. Never Played With

Up for sale is this Gorgeous Blonde #5 Ponytail in her original box with copper-colored wire stand. And oh my, what beautiful blonde hair in its original style with upper and lower wraps still intact (see dried elastic at bottom of ponytail). It still has its hard curl at the bottom. Perfect bangs with tons of defined curls. Stunning original face paint but....Yes, as with so many later ponytails, this girl has green at both ears, mostly on her left ear lobe. There is one thin streak o...f green in the back of her hair, hidden by the ponytail. I bought her because of the unplayed-with condition of the doll's hair and body. The vinyl has that flat matte appearance with she retains all her red finger and toe nail paint. Her rear end markings say "Barbie". I am confused by the box which is the so-called "bubble cut" box, not the Gay Parisienne Barbie box you would expect to find for the #5 ponytail, sold in 1961. She is also wearing a mint red helenca swimsuit, which were worn by the #6 ponytails. Her legs have a slightly wider stance which could suggest she is a transitional 5/6 ponytail. It is a bit of a puzzle.  One particularly savvy collector friend suggested she is a 1962 ponytail, a transitional year for many of the issues, with the doll having characteristics of both the #5 and #6.Overall, despite her dreaded green ear stains, she is beautiful and you have to get a kick out of a doll that is 58 years old still having such pristine makeup and hair.
