Original Description:

Offered for sale is this antique/vintage carved wood bust of a Catholic bishop or saint. I think it may be Saint Urban of Langres. The carving is continental European, and, because there's gesso under the paint, probably Italian. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures.
The bust is approximately 15.5 inches tall, and is just over 14 inches wide.

He is missing a piece, probably a carved stopper for the wine vessel he is holding in his left hand. There are some natur...al age splits to the wood, and some small paint rubs here and there. Please see the close up pictures.
