Welcome to Antiques & Mo ore! This listing is for a lovely 19th Century Meissen hard paste porcelain figurine of a young girl carrying a basket and feeding her chickens, c. 1880. This nice figure has very fine details and is wearing Period clothing. Marked on the base with the Meissen cobalt blue under glaze trademark stamp.Measures 4 1/2" high with the base measuring approximately 2 3/4" wide. Weighs 7.8 ounces. This nice figurine is in very good Estate condition w...ith no obvious flaws, however, there has been a professional repair on the figure's right wrist. This is so well done you can only detect it with a black light. There is also very faint roughness on the tip of the largest chicken's beak that can be felt but is not noticed with the naked eye. These flaws are hard to spot and do not detract from the beauty of this figurine.
