Rare Original 1930s Royal Automobile Club of Victoria Vintage Car Radiator BadgeWe date this very rare Royal Automobile Club of the Victoria to about the 1930s. It is believed to be a badge for a full member and would have either been mounted on a radiator cap or to a bumper bar of a vintage car. It is a double sided badge bearing the inscription "The Automobile Club of Victoria" on one side and "Royal Automobile Club Associate" on the other. It is surmounted by a king’s crown to th...e top of a spoked car wheel. The hub area has an enamelled disc with the red Australian flag on one side. The other side has an enamelled blue and white enamel disc with “V” to the centre and a vintage sports car with wings. This arrangement is above a winged goddess figure above a plinth and low dome that is fitted to the cap. The membership number of 13135 is stamped on one side the other is impressed “”Property of the RACV”. It was most likely issued in the 1930s. Currently mounted on an offcut for display purposes; there is a bolt hole to the base to fix to a cap if required.The membership badge is in good condition with all enamelling intact; some pitting to the badge and loss of nickel plated around the base is noted.
