This canvas gun case has brass fittings with a strong leather handle, this is anchored well to the case with solid brass d-rings. The central catch works fine, unfortunately, the key is missing.The leather binding to the edges is all intact as is the waxed cotton stitching, however, there is some scuffing and scratches, mainly to the ends and corners. The original leather anchor points for the straps are well attached.The canvas does show the usual small tears, stains and discolourati...on that one would associate with years of use. I have tried to show the condition in the photographs.Internally, the green baise lining is in good order, but does have some stains and small holes, it may well be a replacement.The "Army & Navy" trade label is attached to the inside of the lid, this may not be original to the case.The external measurements of the case are 84 cm (33 inches) long and 22.5 cm (9 inches) wide. It is 8.5 cm (3 1/2 inches) deep.The internal barrel length is 80 cm (311/2 inches) and the stock length is 51 cm (20 1/4 inches).
