Octavo. (381) pages. Hardcover with a gold and red dust jacket, now in mylar. The jacket shows heavy wear, and there is significant chipping along the edges, including along the fore edge of the the front panel and the spine ends. There is a 5 1/2 inch split running down the center of the jacket's rear panel, along with creasing to the left of this and chipping at the top. The book itself is sound with secure inner hinges. The cloth binding is fairly fresh, although there is some spotting and abrasion (possibly evidence of pest damage) on all the outside edges of the text block. The text is sound and unmarked. Early owner's signature of "Evans L. Shuff" on the front flyleaf. This book is an early printing; we're not sure if is considered an early edition or a later printing of the First Edition.
