U.S. CIVIL WAR MODEL 1850 FOOT OFFICERS SWORD ANDSCABBARD ENGRAVED – FRENCH IMPORTThisis an original U.S. Civil War Model 1850 French Import Engraved Foot Officer'ssword is in original untouched condition. The 30-3/4"-long blade isbeautifully etched with various military motifs and designs and U.S. on oneside. The blade retains its original fosting and polish and there are no makermarks on the ricasso. The leather washer is complete and attached. The brasshand guard and fittings all ...have a nice even patina and are solid and tight.There is a matching serial number 68463 on the guard and scabbard. The handgrip is made of a brown ox bone and the wire is missing.  The overall length of the sword and scabbardare 37”. The sword and scabbard are in overall fine condition.
