U.S. Civil War Model 1840 Ames NCO MusiciansSword - Dated 1864This is an original U.S. Civil War Model 1840 NCO Musicians Swordin nice untouched condition.  The swordwas made by Ames Manufacturing Co. The overall length of the sword is 34-3/8”.The single-edged blade itself measures 28-3/16”. The blade is in very nicecondition with a nice smooth finish and a very few light rust spots at the tipif the blade. There are no nicks on this blade and it retains its pointed tip.The ric...asso is marked “U.S. / G.W.C. / 1864” on one side, and the other side ismarked MADE BY AMES MFC. CO. / CHICOPEE / MASS. The brass hilt has a very nicedark patina. The sword is in overall very nice condition. These swords werecarried by Non-Commissioned Officers, Corporals and Sergeants.
