Description: This is for a vintage 1922-1926 Van Briggle Art Pottery Mulberry Cabinet Vase #695, featuring a stylized Spiderwort Trifoliate Flowers pattern which surrounds the lip of the vase, with the design flowing into the base. Very nice detail which sometimes gets hidden with the heavy glaze.
The glaze is in a classic USA period dark, rich Mulberry with deep maroon overspray. Bulbous (jardiniere) in shape, and Art Nouveau in style. The pattern was ori...ginally designed by Anne Gregory Van Briggle and first produced 1907-08.
It is marked on the bottom with the Van Briggle logo (two conjoint AA's) along with the name "Van Briggle USA". This marking has been verified to the 1922-1926 period.
Condition: This cabinet vase is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks or repairs. When looking closely at the glaze, there are a few tiny spots to the glaze, which I'm sure some are natural from the time of production, but some are possibly rub marks or such. Not even as big as flea bites (which they're not) and are hardly noticeable in person, but show up in more detail in the hi-res photos.
Specs: The vase stands 3 3/4" inches tall, and is around 4 1/2" inches wide, the opening is 2 7/8" inches across.
